Werewolf is a classic atmospheric party game, now in pocket size, where players are divided into the good and the evil; Aesir and werewolves - and no one knows who is who.
As something new in this edition of Werewolf, you play as the gods from Norse mythology, each with their own unique ability that fits the god. Thor can, for example, take revenge if he is killed; Heimdall can see more than one might think; and Loki is, as always, up to mischief.
This gives the game a very special atmosphere that you don't get in other similar games. And if you are a fan of Norse mythology and its rich character gallery, you can also enjoy the game's artwork, inspired by old woodcuts from the Viking Age, which is full of references to the old religion!
Ragnarok is triggered if at any point there are an equal number of werewolves and good left. But Ragnarok is prevented if the good manage to kill all the werewolves before it's too late.
The game takes place over several rounds, each divided into the phases of ‘night’ and ‘day’. At night, everyone closes their eyes - except for the werewolves, who silently choose a victim. During the day, you get to speak up when accusing others of being werewolves; or respond when you are accused yourself. Regardless, the day ends in a vote on who should be lynched.
In between the two sides stands the storyteller, the ‘skald’, who is the game master. It is the skald who controls the course of the battle and keeps track of the rules. The unique thing about Werewolf is that only the skald needs to know the rules of the game - so once he has it under control, you can just get started!
