Different forms of card games have existed for as long as we know. Even before the invention of paper, the “cards” were made from materials like wood or stone. A card game is a deck of cards (a set of playing cards or a trading card game) where the backs are identical, and the fronts are different from one another. Card games are games of chance in the sense that not all information is available to the players — for example, you often don’t know which card you’ll draw next.
