Root: The Clockwork Expansion (Exp)

Root: The Clockwork Expansion gives you the opportunity to fight against 4 devilish automated factions that can be used in both solo and cooperative play.

The Clockwork expansion includes automated versions of all 4 factions from the base game Root: Mechanical Marquise 2.0, Electrical Eyrie, Automated Alliance, and Vagabot. The expansion is fully compatible with all other expansions, so you can also play Riverfolk or Corvids against the Clockwork versions!

You can play Clockwork however you like. Want to play solo? Go ahead. Add a little extra variation to the normal game? Easy. Collaborate against the Clockwork versions? You can do that too!

Each Clockwork faction has 3 difficulty levels. If you want more variation, you can also add 1-4 unique traits that give them new powers and functions.

How to play Root:

Each player chooses a faction, which determines how they will play the game.

• Marquise de Cat, plays a game of engine building and logistics while trying to police the great wilderness. By collecting wood, they are able to produce workshops, sawmills, and barracks. They win by building new buildings and crafting.
• Eyrie, sneaks their hawks to take back the Woods. They must capture as much territory as possible and build roosts before they collapse back into squabbling.
• Alliance, hides in the shadows, recruiting forces and hatching conspiracies. They start slowly and build towards a dramatic presence in the late game - but only if they can manage to keep the other players in check.
  
• Vagabond, uses all sides of the conflict for their own gain while hiding a mysterious quest. Explore the board, fight against other factions, and work towards achieving your hidden goal.
