In the land of Ironwood, an eternal war rages between two powerful factions:
Ironclad – hard-working settlers in the mighty iron mountains, living for their forges and machines.
Woodwalkers – swift, deadly warriors from the shadows of the forest, guarding the secrets of nature.
Both are fighting for the greatest treasure in Ironwood – Larimor Crystals, a mysterious energy of unfathomable power. The crystals are found deep within the mountains and scattered throughout the dense forests.
Ironclad extract the crystals and transform their energy to power enormous machines. If they succeed, their forges will spit out endless armies and crush all resistance.
Woodwalkers use the raw magic of the crystals to find three ancient totems, hidden in the mountains' secret ritual sites. When united, they can summon The Guardian – the ancient protector of the forest – and drive Ironclad out once and for all.
Once and for all, the war must be decided.
Ironwood is an easy-to-learn, highly asymmetric card-driven tactical game for 1-2 players.
Play your faction cards to move troops, engage in battle, extract crystals, or gain temporary bonuses.
When combat breaks out, you use the same cards to secretly bid on combat bonuses, inflict losses, or strengthen your warriors to win.
The factions have vastly different strategies, victory conditions, and even areas on the board they can move in.
As an Ironclad commander: Build forges in the mountains and gather enough crystals to raise three mighty forges – and victory is yours.
As a Woodwalker chief: Find the totems, clear the way by defeating the enemy, and bring them back to the forest – three totems mean instant victory.
The game also includes a solo mode against either Ironclad or Woodwalkers, each with its unique mechanics and challenges.
