EXIT is a mystery room/escape room in a box. You are faced with a series of puzzles and mysteries that you must solve in time so you can 'escape' the room you are trapped in.
It is finally time to go on vacation again! This year, the trip takes you to an idyllic village in the mountains. To avoid more car problems, you have decided to take the train! After three hours of delay, you arrive at the holiday cabin, where you find brochures with tips for attractions – including an advertisement for an impressive castle.
The advertisement may look a bit homemade and amateurish, but you don't care, because you love medieval buildings.
The next day, you head to the castle. There is no ticket sales – in fact, the place is completely deserted. But that suits you fine, as you can explore without being disturbed! You sneak inside the castle, where you find a magnificent throne room. Suddenly, the enormous wooden door slams shut behind you, and you realize (once again) that this probably wasn't a good idea after all...
In addition to the contents of the box, it is a good idea to have a pad, pencil, and eraser ready, as well as a stopwatch (possibly on your mobile phone).
Place the cards in three piles with the front side down. It is important that you do not look at the cards during the game.
Make sure that the Mystery cards and result cards are in the correct order according to numbers and letters. That is, with A and 1 on top. The helper cards are sorted by their symbols and placed in piles.
In each symbol set of three cards, "FIRST HINT" should be on top, followed by "SECOND HINT," and at the bottom "SOLUTION." The piles are distributed on the table.
Depending on how the game develops, you will find new items that are locked with codes. The tasks involve finding these codes and using them on the decoding disc.
In the outer circle of the decoding disc, there are 10 different symbols. Each of these symbols has a code that you need to find. Therefore, it is important to get all the details right!
If you think you have cracked a code, you should enter it under the symbol on the disc.
In the window, you will now find a number that indicates which result card you should look at. The result card tells you whether you have hit correctly or incorrectly.
With a correct code you move on in the game, while with an incorrect code, you will be asked to try again.
Be patient - some of the tasks can only be solved with the help of several mystery cards. You will not always receive all these cards at once.
The game ends when you have solved the last task and have made it out safely. It is clearly stated on the result card when this happens, so there is no danger of you missing it!
There are three possible outcomes when a code is entered:
