These are dangerous, pirate-infested waters, and you carefully send rat-infested ships across them to establish lucrative trade in remote trade-infested ports. First, you need to take over some islands to gain a foothold. The natives seem friendly enough, with their peace cries they throw spears and poison arrows at you before you are even close enough to properly greet them. When you finally reach the ports you want to conquer, from there you will look for more rivers. One day all the rivers will be yours.
The theme of Seaside 2nd edition is to sail out to sea and see what awaits, and come home with trade goods and riches from distant lands. Among the new game mechanics introduced are cards that do something in the round they are played, and then remain for the next round, where they do something again.
Seaside 2nd edition contains almost the same cards as the first version of Seaside, but the wording on several of the cards has been changed and 9 new cards have been introduced.
Note, this is an expansion and cannot be played without the base game Dominion, or a pack of basic cards.
