Challenge your brain cells with the classic game, Backgammon. This edition is made of wood and comes in a sleek case. If you manage to be the first to move all 15 Pieces, you win the game. One of the world's oldest and most famous board games with origins in Mesopotamia. Comes in a wooden box measuring approximately 38 x 24 cm, the game board is about twice as long.
The game is played on a board with 24 points, divided into 4 quadrants. These are often numbered from 24 to 1, for one player counterclockwise starting in the farthest right corner, and for the other player clockwise starting in the farthest left quadrant. Points 1-6 are called the player's "home country," "inner home country," or simply "home," while 7-12 are called the "outer home country" or "outer land." 13-18 is the opponent's outer land and 19-24 is the opponent's home country.
Each player starts with 15 Pieces in one color. The Pieces can be on the points, off the board ("taken off"), or on the vertical dividing line between the quadrants ("the bar" or "the fence").
The goal is to get all your Pieces to your home country and have them taken off the board. The one who reaches this first has won.
