In this expansion, you get many new ways to play Catan. Catan: Merchants and Barbarians includes four rule variants and five scenarios, all offering new tactical challenges and exciting combination possibilities.

You can try your hand as a fisherman, harbor master, the terror of the barbarians, jailer, transport chief, and caravan driver. With the event cards, you will discover that coincidences are less random than with dice, and with the 2-player rules, Catan comes to the table even more often.

Use "The Friendly Robber" if you want to play a more family-friendly game, or the scenario "The Barbarians Attack" if you enjoy playing aggressively and fighting tooth and nail for victory points.
