You break the waves in an unknown sea. In your quest for new islands to supplement your settlements on Catan. An exciting journey with adventurous destinations lies ahead of you. Find the hidden Pirate enclaves and defeat the dangerous pirates.

Fill the cargo of your ship with fish and spices. If you can bring these valuable trade goods back to Catan, you will be royally rewarded. The race for gold and rum is hereby on!

Catan: Adventurers & Pirates is a brand new and exciting way to play the classic Settlers of Catan.

Adventurers & Pirates includes five scenarios that gradually introduce the new rules and components - new settlers, ships, harbor cities, pirate ships, fishing spots, and spice sacks - that change the way Settlers is played. The path to victory is still to build houses and cities, but also harbor cities and complete missions.

Note: This is an expansion and cannot be played without the base game Catan.

The five scenarios are:

1. Land in sight (sail settlers out to new lands)
2. Pirate enclaves (find and conquer the pirates' enclaves)
3. Fish for Catan (catch fish as a new resource)
4. Spices for Catan (Send merchants to spice markets and freight the goods home)
5. Adventurers & Pirates (fight pirates, catch fish, and trade spices)
