Party games, also known as social games, have one thing in common: they are great to play when you are with others. They are typically more social games, which are good at including everyone in the group. They can be games whose main purpose is to break the ice among people who do not know each other well in advance. They can also be party games that serve as entertainment or a cozy pastime. A common feature of almost all party games is that they can be played by virtually anyone, and therefore they are designed to be easy to learn for new players. In the category of party games, there are almost never games where players are eliminated, as that would go against the social nature of party games.

Party games are great as icebreakers for a group of people who have not met each other before. But party games are also good at including new people in a group where the others already know each other, as they encourage everyone to participate. Similarly, party games can also be used for family gatherings, where there may need to be room for Aunt Oda at 80 and Jacob at 9, because the rules are relatively simple and easy to understand. Generally, party games are just really good at shaking up the group and creating shared memories.

At our webshop, we have many different types of party games. When choosing your game, it's a good idea to consider the mood you want to promote among the participants. If you want a lively and festive atmosphere, it might be good with party games where you need to be the fastest, or games where you have to form silly sentences from words on cards. Whereas for a cozy evening, more calm party games and games where participants need to be thoughtful might be better.

At Card Collective, we are happy to help you find just the right party game for you. We are happy to share our experience with party games and provide good advice to make your gaming experience even better. You can choose whether you want to write to us, call, or come by our physical store in Aalborg. In the store, you can look at all the party games we have on our shelves, and you can go into the Game Room and try some of our games, which we have set up for free use there.

Popular Party Games

Exploding Kittens

Exploding Kittens is a strategic cat version of Russian roulette. If you draw an exploding kitten, you lose. However, all other cards in the deck help you avoid drawing an exploding kitten. If you don't explode, YOU WIN! Also available in an NSFW version and with expansions, including Streaking Kittens which adds a "Streaking Kitten" that allows you to have an exploding kitten in your hand without exploding.

Munchkin

Munchkin is a mega-hit card game about dungeon adventures... without any of the silly role-playing. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magical items. The game is available in a plethora of different editions, ranging from Disney to Rick & Morty! There are also a whole bunch of expansions that make the game even wilder than it already is.

The Bad Company

The Bad Company is a delightfully silly party game where participants create insane and inappropriate sentences and scenarios. Also has a few different expansions - including Extra Dark or Extra Inappropriate, which add new funny cards to the game!

Codenames

In the game, two teams compete to first make contact with their own agents. The spy chiefs give hints along the way: one word that can point to several of the words lying on the table.

Then it's up to the team to try to guess words that belong to them. They should ideally not guess the cards that belong to the opposing team. They should definitely not guess the assassin!
