Role-Playing Dice

Here you will find our large selection of polyhedral dice or role-playing dice. These dice most often come in sets of 7 and are used for various role-playing games including Dungeons & Dragons. To distinguish between the different dice in the sets, each die is referred to as a D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, or a D20. Here, 'D' stands for Dice, while the number refers to the number of sides on the die. Most sets contain one of each type of dice, as well as a so-called percentage die – an extra d10, where the numbers increase in intervals of 10.

HeaderMore about Role-Playing DiceBlockText2

As the name suggests, role-playing dice are primarily used for tabletop role-playing games. The seven dice included in the dice sets cover the basic needs that arise when playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or other role-playing games that use DnD’s Open Gaming License – such as Darksouls RPG and Stargate RPG.

With a single set of dice, you generally have enough to play most of the aforementioned examples, but you often end up in situations where you need to roll the same die many times and therefore it may be a good idea to invest in an extra set or a set with more d6’s, d10’s or d20’s as these are some of the most frequently used dice. Another aspect to consider is how easily readable the numbers on the dice are. If a game requires many dice rolls, it can quickly become a drawn-out affair if you are always in doubt about the result because the dice are difficult to read. Below you can read a little about the different brands of dice.

Chessex

Chessex is one of the largest brands of role-playing dice. Among their products are a multitude of designs, color combinations, and effects. Chessex offers everything from very simple black dice with white numbers, to transparent dice with glowing effects and much more.

  • Lab Dice: Lab Dice are special sets of Chessex dice that are only made in limited quantities. The sets often contain an extra special “Lab Dice” d6 and are stored in a test tube-shaped box.

Q-Workshop

Q-Workshop makes super cool dice with small illustrations on the sides of the dice. They offer different design series of dice such as Dragons, Dwarves and Galactic. They also make dice sets for specific role-playing games like Call of Cthulhu and The Witcher. Their Classic Runic series offers more simple dice without special designs.

Eclipse Dice

Eclipse Dice generally come in two different sizes of sets. The small sets contain 7 dice with a layered design and exciting combinations of colors. The large sets have more simple designs but contain 3 extra d6 and an extra d20. This makes these sets particularly suitable for games like DnD, where you often need a few extra dice.
