Wingspan European Expansion (Danish)

Wingspan: European Expansion is the first expansion for the award-winning game Wingspan. The expansion pack is themed around the diverse and majestic birds from European countries.

Three new mechanisms are added to the birds. Your birds can now have effects that activate at the end of rounds, effects that benefit from having an abundance of cards and food, and last but not least, the game introduces a lot of cards that interact between players. Additionally, in the expansion, you also get an extra tray for storage, extra food tokens, 15 purple eggs, and a colorful score pad with scoring options for solo and multiplayer.

How to play Wingspan

The game is played over four rounds. After a round is finished, there is a small scoring phase, where points are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the thing that the scoring token shows. After that, everyone gets their action cubes back minus one, the starting player marker moves on, and the next round is ready to begin.

On a player's turn, one can take one of four actions.

• Catch a bird: by paying the food the bird costs.
• Gather food: The first free space in the food row shows how much food one may take from the feeder. When there is only one type of food left, the player can choose to roll all the dice again.
• Get the birds to lay eggs: The first free space in the egg-laying row shows how many eggs one gets. Each bird has a number of eggs that it can have. Eggs must also be used when one wants to place another or later bird in a row.
• Draw cards: Here, one can choose between the three shown, or one can draw a random one from the deck. Here, it is also the first free space that shows how many cards one may draw.

For the last three actions, it applies that when the main action is done, all birds in the same row are activated from right to left. This can give points, eggs, food, or more cards. Some birds activate when other players take a specific action.

When the fourth round is over, points are tallied, and the one with the most points for birds, eggs, and bonus cards wins.
