Sky Lantern is an incredible wonder of Cathayan ingenuity, used both as mobile firing platforms and command centers to scout enemies from above and direct troops in battle. Each Sky Lantern consists of a massive, floating lantern held aloft by a contained Vermilion Warbird, and their elevated position makes them a favorite among Magistrates – skilled strategists who excel at organizing Grand Cathay's armies.

The large, multi-part plastic model of the Sky Lantern can be built with either a Magistrate or a Strategist, and the miniature can also be assembled for use on foot with the included square base. The crew can be equipped with ironstorm rifles and dragonfire bombs or long-barreled crane rifles, and the lantern itself can be outfitted with a bomber. The set also includes a transfer sheet with 115 tokens.
