The queen has sent a message to The Guild of Merchant Explorers, asking all brave adventurers to travel to every corner of the kingdom of Tigomé.

While the kingdom flourishes, its maps have not been updated in a long time, and its great cities have lost contact with each other.

Along with your team of explorers, you must travel across the sea, up majestic mountains, across vast deserts, and through lush grasslands to establish trade routes between cities, climb exploration towers, and visit new villages that appear on the horizon.

How to play The Guild of Merchant Explorers:

Each era takes place over several turns, corresponding to the number of cards in the Exploration deck. Player turns occur simultaneously, where you place explorers on their maps according to the revealed exploration card.

Explorers must be placed next to villages, the capital area, or previously placed explorers, and as players discover more villages, they can begin their journey each era from any of these new villages.

Revealing cards from the Exploration deck
Each turn, a player reveals the top card of the exploration pile and places it in its matching spot on the exploration board. All players now place explorers from their supply on their own map according to the card. Once everyone has completed the exploration action and resolved any explored card actions, the next card in the exploration deck is revealed and placed in its matching spot. Continue taking turns in this way until the Exploration deck is empty, which starts the end of the era.

The End of an Era
When the last turn in Era I, II, or III is completed, each player prepares for the next era.

Remove all your explorers from your map and return them to your personal supply. Leave all villages, trading posts, treasure tokens, and exploration towers where they are. Once you have placed a village, trading post, treasure token, or exploration tower, it remains there for the rest of the game.

At the start of each era, one player takes the relevant exploration cards and shuffles them to create the exploration deck. Place this deck face down next to the Exploration board. At the start of Era II, the 5 basic exploration cards plus the "I" and "II" cards are shuffled into the deck. At the start of Era III, the 5 basic exploration cards plus the "I", "II", and "III" era cards are shuffled in. At the start of Era IV, you shuffle all 9 exploration cards (the 5 basic exploration cards plus all 4 era cards) into the deck.

The game ends

  • The game ends at the end of Era IV.
  • The player with the most points wins.

In case of a tie, the player with the most exploration towers wins. If it is still tied, the player with the most villages wins. If it is still tied, everyone wins.
