Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition - Discovery (Exp) (English)

Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition - Discovery adds 4 new mechanics to Ares Expedition: awards, milestones, upgraded phase cards, and wild tags.

Awards are given out at the end to the player who has the most of something. 3 awards are drawn at the start of the round, so you know what you can be rewarded for at the end of the game. The player with the most of the specified item gets 5VP, and the second place gets 2VP.

Milestones are VP awarded during the game. They are given to the player who first reaches the milestone. Milestones are worth 3VP at the end of the game.

Some new project and corporation cards allow you to upgrade your phase cards. Each phase card has 2 different versions that you choose from when you upgrade them. The upgrade allows you a better bonus when you choose that phase. Some new project cards have a wild tag. When a player plays such a card either from the deck or from their hand, that player chooses which tag they want it to be. Tokens are used to keep track of which tag is chosen for the rest of the game.
