Where humans meet magic and machines – that was Shadowrun's slogan from way back, and this campaign book explores how these three aspects of The Sixth World interact and overlap with each other. This book, set in the Denver sprawl, jumps players back and forth from the real world to The Matrix, the astral plane, and back again, looking at what changes and what remains the same while they attempt to uncover a plot that brings all three worlds together to possibly highly destructive effect.

In Shadowrun, you play 'shadowrunners', who are people living on the shadow side of society, and who, with cyberware, magic, hacking, and other tricks, solve various tasks when they are out on 'runs' in the shadows.

The Shadowrun setting is unique, both in its way of combining fantasy and high tech, but also in that the world is 'alive' in the sense that over the last 30 years that Shadowrun has existed, the timeline has similarly advanced by 30 years.

Sixth World is the term for the age in which Shadowrun, with its mix of technology and magic, takes place. The book covers everything needed to create characters, and it covers the game's rules for combat, cyberware, spellcasting, hacking, and so on.

The rules system in Sixth World uses 6-sided dice, and you build dice pools through equipment, abilities, and skills, and with your pool, you must roll as many 5s and 6s as possible to achieve the best results. The rules in the 6th edition of Shadowrun are not fully compatible with Shadowrun 5th edition.
