Panini Obsidian NFL Football 2023 - Hobby Box

2023 Panini Obsidian Football is one of the more colorful sets of the season. It is also one of the darkest. The chrome-based series returns with a new mix of autographs, inserts, memorabilia cards, and more.

The theme of the base set is black. The players are isolated when it comes to their photos, leaving minimalist backgrounds. However, there is more going on at the edges.

This opens up to Obsidian's many parallels. Under Electric Etch banners, these lines are filled with colors like purple, green, yellow, red, Tri-Color Mojo, and Blue Finite.

The top attractions are Rookie Jersey Autographs. Like the base set, these parallels come in various colors - and also have less text and increasing premium gear.

Veteran players continue to be the theme in Rookie Eruption Materials.

One of Panini's most popular inserts is getting another dark edition with Color Blast Black. Instead of the white backgrounds found in Prizm, these generate contrast in the opposite direction. Just like the regular Color Blast cards, these are hard to find.

Die-cut Vitreous and Volcanix are among Obsidian's other short prints.
