Hera, tired of Zeus' infidelity, decides to take revenge and releases the titans from Mount Olympus. The battle that follows their liberation helps to shatter the earth, and the weakest gods are annihilated. The stronger gods were able to withstand total destruction, but even their immense power could not save them completely. Their divinity has been shattered and spread to the four now ruined corners of the world.

As they awoke, one by one, they discovered that they were only a shadow of their former selves. They were still stronger and mightier than the mortals they walked among, but they were no longer immortal. However, they could sense where their fragments were located, and they knew that if they could collect them again, they could regain their greatness and power - and create a new Pantheon.

The world around them has suffered just as much as they have. Greece has become a barren wasteland, Athens is in flames, Crete has sunk into the sea, and Mount Olympus is a ash-covered wreck. But it has not only affected the realm of mortals; the underworld also trembled from the blow, even though a sea of new souls flowed down the river Styx.

Hades has lost control over the underworld, the gates of hell stand open, and although the river Styx prevents the weakest souls from returning to the realm of mortals, the strongest warriors and most fearsome monsters have managed to climb back up the Styx and return to the surface.

As a new power struggle breaks out, the gods summon mortal survivors, ancient heroes, and reborn monsters to aid them in their quest for their lost power.
