Product information

After the queen's arrest, the princess locked herself in her tall tower, her heart broken with sorrow. However, you have a solution to her problem: Love! Unfortunately, other suitors have had the same idea – and when the princess has locked herself away, it is difficult to deliver your love letters. Luckily, you know several people inside the castle who can get your letter to the princess. But can you reach her before the princess falls in love with one of the other suitors?

Love Letter is an elegant card game for 2-6 players about getting the suitor's letter to the princess. It is a game of bluff and deduction, where each player holds a card, and players take turns. When it's your turn, you draw another card, and you must play one of the two cards. All cards have an effect and a point value - so which card should be played? The goal is to be the last remaining player or to hold the card with the highest value.

Love Letter is a Japanese-designed micro-game that consists of few cards and does not take many minutes to play. It is for the whole family when trying to lure your opponents into trouble.

How to play Love Letter:

On your turn, your goal is to try to get one of the other players out of the round by playing a card. There are only 16 cards in the game, and it is about figuring out which cards your opponents have so you can get them out of the round.

Each turn starts with you drawing the top card from the deck. Once you have done that, you must play one of the two cards you have in hand. Each card has an effect that must be used – even if the effect is bad for you.

You play your card in front of you so that everyone can see what you have played. The next cards you play must be placed so that all the cards you have played are clear.

Once you have played your card and the effect has taken effect, it is the next player's turn. If a player has been eliminated from the round, they reveal their card without using its effect and do nothing until the next round.

A round can end in one of two ways.

  1. If a player has eliminated the other players, that player has won the round.
  2. When there are no more cards in the deck at the end of a player's turn. The winner of the round in this case is the player who has the card with the highest numerical value.

The winner of the round takes one of the affection cubes and is the starting player in the next round. The game ends when a player has received a certain number of affection cubes from the princess. The number depends on how many players are involved.
