The story
After a long and grueling war, the traitors finally stand at the gates of Terra. But time is short. Guilliman and the Lion are on their way back with their armies, and their arrival could turn the tide of the entire war. The Warmaster's forces must be gathered if the assault on the Throneworld is to succeed.

Mortarion is sent ahead as the spearhead of the fleet, while Lorgar and Perturabo are given the nearly impossible task of uniting Fulgrim and Angron – both now elevated to daemon princes and perhaps beyond even Horus' control. Meanwhile, Horus lies weakened, and as the galaxy's greatest battle approaches, it is up to Maloghurst to keep the legion united and pull his master back from the brink of the abyss.
