Keep on Trucking is an expansion for the relaunched version of Galaxy Trucker! With new ships, new adventure cards, more building components, Rough Roads cards, and new aliens with unique abilities, your journey through the stars will be even more chaotic and fun!
If you have mastered the basics of Galaxy Trucker, you are ready for this expansion! Corp Inc has new ships they want you to try out. Ships that will challenge you. Ships that will make you question what they were thinking?
Your ships will be thoroughly tested by your adventures. If your journeys seem easy, Rough Roads cards can turn them into a twisted nightmare. To meet these challenges, you have access to new components that offer new tactical options. And you will be able to fly with new aliens, each with a unique ability.
The different parts of the expansion can be mixed and matched, so you can choose exactly the combination that will be the most fun for you.
To start, you should agree on how many rounds you will play. Usually, three rounds are played, but the game works fine even if the first short round is skipped. The spaceship for the third round comes in two variants, but you can also choose to play both.
You will then build your spaceships, and you do this simultaneously.
When you take a module piece, you must take it to your spaceship before deciding whether to set it aside or place it on the spaceship. If you set it aside, it must be face up – and other players can freely take it if it is one they can use. If it is placed on the spaceship, the table catches! You may not move or rotate the piece later.
The placement of the piece on the spaceship must follow some simple rules: Edges with one pipe only fit next to other pieces with one pipe, or edges with three pipes, while edges with two pipes only fit with other edges with two pipes or edges with three pipes. Edges with three pipes can be placed against edges with one, two, or three pipes.
As you finish, you place each small spaceship piece on the game board. The last player flies at the back. In immediate safety, but also with limited opportunities to fill the cargo with values.
Finally, you review each other's spaceships. If some have not followed the rules, the incorrectly placed module pieces must be removed.
Now you are ready to fly! Your spaceships will undergo a trial for each travel card you draw – trials like these – and many more:
When all cards have been drawn, you must look at the sad remains of your proud spaceships and award credit based on how many open holes they have and who has flown the farthest. You must also sell your cargo. When all rounds are completed, you count the credit and declare the winner.
