Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor is a standalone game in the Forest Shuffle series, where you build and develop new ecosystems. Here, players place trees, bushes, and terrain cards to attract various species and create a balanced nature with flora and fauna.
Terrain Cards: Played horizontally and serve as habitats or feeding grounds for species that cannot live on trees or bushes.
Species Behavior: Deer and other animals stay away from bogs and swamp areas. The placement of species requires strategy, so they feel safe and have access to water.
Unique Back of the Cards: All 180 cards can be flipped with the back side up to create bogs if the action allows it.
Symmetrical Starting Conditions: The dens are selected at the start of the game and provide asymmetrical starting conditions.
Reduced Number of Tree Symbols: From eight to six, making it easier to achieve bonuses.
Each player starts with six cards in hand, showing either trees, bushes, terrain, or two moor-dwellers (animal/plant species). These cards are split, with one species in each half.
On a turn, you can either draw two cards (from the deck or from the clearing) or play a card from your hand by discarding other cards as payment.
The game ends when all cards have been played, and the player with the most points wins.
Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor combines strategy, understanding of nature, and tactics, perfect for anyone who loves beautiful, vibrant, and challenging ecosystems.
