In "Fancy Feathers", at your baroness's command, you begin to search for noble pheasants for the pheasantry, moving along a path via a simple yet truly clever mechanism, collecting valuable cards and avoiding annoyances. Unfortunately, you are not alone. Snatch the most beautiful birds to finish the game with the most valuable animal collection.
During setup, you must choose six of the twelve card types included in the game. In total, there are 924 possible combinations! Shuffle the cards, then remove from the game as many cards as three times the number of players, and then place five cards face up in a row, and place player tokens in a random stack. On your turn, you move your piece as far along the row as you wish to land on a card or another player token. If you were alone on a card at the start of your turn and at the back of the row, you collect the card you were on, along with any others behind you. After you have moved, if necessary, place cards from the deck so that there are five cards in front of the player who is furthest down the row, and then the player who is furthest back in the row takes the next turn.
When the last cards from the deck are placed in the row, you may choose to leave the row instead of moving, and the game is now over for you. When all players have left, your points are counted to see who has the most points.
"Fancy Feathers" works with up to six players, but to play with more than two people, you will need additional copies of the game to have the necessary number of animal cards and wooden discs.
