Here, you must build prestige by establishing new businesses in the nine districts – both as a cohesive network and across the entire city. At the same time, you must gain support from the city's three major factions: Council of Four, Flaming Fist, and Thieves’ Guild.

When you place buildings, you also place your influence dice. This applies to special buildings such as keeps, gates, and watchtowers. These have small slots, allowing you to clearly see your influence and watch the city grow in 3D.

But Baldur’s Gate is not just about wealth and trade. Monsters regularly attack the city walls or come through the harbor, and players must form temporary alliances to hold them back. At the same time, each family tries to exploit the chaos for their own advantage.
