Diplomacy: Era of Empire takes you back to the 19th century, a time of dynamism, expansion, and conflicts, where large areas of the Ottoman Empire, the Indian subcontinent, China, Indochina, and the East Indies were contested by competing empires.

In the game, seven great powers – Britain, France, Russia, Turkey, China, Japan, and the Netherlands – vie for regional dominance. Alliances are formed, trust is betrayed, and players must use cunning, strategy, and negotiation to outmaneuver their opponents. The outcome depends solely on the player's skill and tactical insight – no dice rolls or randomness.

Diplomacy: Era of Empire is a standalone game, suitable for both new and experienced Diplomacy players. It is based on the 1994 edition Colonial Diplomacy, but with an updated map for better balance, removal of complicated mechanisms, and other rule adjustments that make the game more streamlined and accessible.
