Detective Club is a board game for players with simple rules that only takes a minute to explain.
Intrigues, sudden revelations, unlimited creativity, and lots of fun await you in this game! Lead the investigation as a detective, or cover your tracks as the infiltrated conspirator. Discuss, accuse, protest, and try to convince everyone.
In Detective Club, one of the players secretly teams up with another player - the deceiver - in each round and tries to get them to guess a secret word using just two illustrated cards! The other players are detectives who also know the word but do not know each other's identities. The detectives must figure out who the conspirator is and ensure they are not accused by their fellow players!
Each player has a handful of cards with imaginative motifs, like those we know from Dixit and Mysterium.
If playing with 4 players, one player looks at their cards and chooses two of them, as well as a word that both cards can be used to describe. It could for example be "board game".
The word is written down on two pads, which are given to two of the other players, while the last one (the deceiver) gets a blank pad. All the remaining players must then choose two of their cards that describe the word "board game" and subsequently explain how they describe the word. The player who does not know the word must choose cards that are as broadly encompassing as possible,
because after the explanations, all players will vote on who the deceiver is!
