Fight for the House Cup

As new students at Hogwarts, players are divided into two rival houses. Each team is led by a prefect who knows the secrets behind the game board's word cards.

The prefect gives clues consisting of one word and a number, after which the team's students must guess the right words and explore Hogwarts one card at a time.

Beware of Filch

Not all paths lead to success. Along the way, players may encounter:

• Opponent's clues
• Dead ends
• Locked doors
• Other obstacles

And above all, it's important to avoid Argus Filch. If he is revealed, the game ends immediately, and the opposing team wins.

Unique abilities for each house

In addition to the familiar Codenames mechanics, Back to Hogwarts introduces asymmetric house abilities.

Each house has two special abilities, but only uses one per game. As two different houses meet in each match, many different combinations arise, providing great variation and new strategic opportunities from game to game.
