Experience the incredibly popular city-building card game in its original form!
Citadels Classic gives you Bruno Faidutti's game with card drafting and intrigue, as it was first published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2002 with the characters as they were first visualized by Julien Delval. With easy-to-learn rules and engaging social interactions, Citadels Classic is a perfect entry game for younger or less experienced players. This edition is both portable and affordable, allowing you to create your dream medieval cities wherever you want.
When all players have chosen a character card, the player with the crown now calls out the name of each character one at a time in order of numerical rank. This way, he first calls "Assassin" (#1), then "Thief" (#2), and so on. If no player reveals the character being called, simply call the next character in rank order.
When the name of your character card is called, you must reveal your miniature card, place it face up in front of you, and take your turn. When your turn is over, the player with the crown calls the name of the next miniature card. This way, the game continues until each character is called in order of their rank number, giving all players a turn (unless they are murdered by the Assassin).
On your turn, you must first take an action, and then you can build a district card.
The actions you can take are as follows:
Once you have taken your action, you can build a district card in your city (i.e., play it from your hand onto the table in front of you). To do this, you must pay the district's cost in gold to the bank. You may also choose not to build a district card if you wish.
Each character has a special ability, also called its Power. You can use your character's power once during your turn.
When all characters have been called, each player returns their character card to the Character Deck, which is shuffled, and a new round begins.
When a player builds their eighth district, the game ends when the current round is completed. The player with the most points wins.
