In Canvas, you play as a painter participating in an art competition. Players collect art cards and stack 3 of them on top of each other to create their own unique painting. Each card contains a piece of artwork as well as a set of icons used to calculate points. These icons can either be revealed or hidden depending on how the cards are stored, creating an exciting puzzle experience. The paintings are judged based on a set of point cards, which vary from game to game. When all players have created and evaluated 3 paintings, the game ends.
On your turn, you can either take an art card or paint a painting.
Take an art card:
The art cards are laid out in a row in the middle of the table, and each position has a price. When you choose a card, you must pay its price by placing an Inspiration token on each of the cards to the left of it. If you do not have enough Inspiration tokens, you cannot take the card. Any tokens on the chosen card are kept for future turns. The outermost left card is free to take.
Paint a painting:
If you have three or more art cards, you can choose to paint a painting. You select 3 of your art cards, arrange them in any order, and then score points by comparing the visible icons on your painting with the current point conditions.
When all players have created 3 paintings, the game ends.
🎨 The winner is the player with the most points! 🎨
