Alone Against the Frost is an introductory solo adventure for Call of Cthulhu. The adventure was originally published 30 years ago, but is now completely revised and updated for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition.
The adventure takes place in Canada's Northwest Territories in the 1920s. From here, you must forge your own path as you navigate through the story, and your choices will impact whether you win or lose! Although most adventures are meant to be played with your friends, this adventure is just for you.
You take on the role of Dr. L. C Nadelmann, an anthropologist from Miskatonic University in Arkham, MA. You have 3 of your most gifted graduate students along with a local guide as you head out into the legendary valley of North Hanninah in search of the anthropological discovery that will put your name on the map.
Your expedition members are:
But such a journey is fraught with challenges and difficulties, from dangerous white water to superstitions among the region's inhabitants - not to mention the local wildlife.
Can you survive all the challenges this hostile environment throws at you? Can your companions? Will you return home with your reputation - and your sanity - intact? Only time will tell.
Before you begin, you will need a Call of Cthulhu RPG Investigator Handbook and a blank investigator sheet. And of course, paper, pencil, eraser, and role-playing dice. You do not need to have read the rules from end to end before you start playing, just sit back and follow the instructions.
