Alone Against the Dark takes place in the autumn of 1931, and your goal is to solve mysterious disappearances and prevent a catastrophe that threatens to strike the world. You will travel from New York City to Greece, Egypt, Germany, and Antarctica. It all begins with the theft of an invaluable relic, and four friends are drawn one by one into a dark web of mysticism and horror. As the darkness grows, only you can fight against the death of light. The fate of the world is in your hands.
As Louis Grunewald, a quiet language professor from Miskatonic University, you will confuse the forces of darkness before time runs out. But if Professor Grunewald is eliminated for any reason, you can subsequently assume the identity of a new investigator. There are four pre-made investigators for this purpose, allowing you to take on different roles as circumstances change in your quest for the truth: Louis Grunewald, a language professor from Miskatonic University, Lydia Lau, a history-seeking journalist from New York Sun, Devon Wilson, a sailor on leave from the US Navy, and Ernest Holt, a wealthy industrialist.
This adventure is guaranteed to be dangerous. But no matter how skillfully you avoid death or madness, your investigators will fail if they do not prevent the world from turning and the release of the Old Ones City from the ice. Equipped with a copy of the Call of Cthulhu Keepers Rulebook, a pencil, and some role-playing dice, you are ready for the many twists and turns in this epic worldwide adventure.
