The Soviet Union's armies had a wide range of weapons to combat German armored forces – from classic anti-tank rifles to more unconventional solutions like Molotov cocktails, ampulomets, and the controversial dog mines.
Although anti-tank rifles became less effective against newer tanks, the Soviets continued to use them in large numbers – often requiring them to get dangerously close to the enemy. At the same time, the unusual ampulomet was used to fire incendiary glass projectiles, while dog mines were employed as a desperate, but sometimes effective solution against enemy tanks.
