The 8th British Army was formed from the Western Desert Force in 1941 and consisted of men from across the British Commonwealth - British, New Zealanders, Australians, Indians, and South Africans. After success against the Italians in North Africa, the 8th Army suddenly faced a new, more deadly enemy: the Deutsches Afrika Korps led by Erwin Rommel.
In addition to fighting against the oppressive heat, choking dust, and freezing cold nights, they were also up against German and Italian soldiers - the 8th Army later became known as the "Desert Rats," a nickname taken from the 7th Armoured Division, a key component of the Western Desert Force.
This set contains a wealth of parts and options, allowing you to assemble different soldiers - British, Sikhs, Punjabis, Muslims, or Scots. Exactly what is needed in the fight against Rommel's Afrika Korps or Mussolini's Italians!
Note: All miniatures are unassembled and unpainted.
