Cross the narrow sea with the Mother of Dragons expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game! This expansion for A Game of Thrones The Board Game introduces House Targaryen and their dragons, House Arryn, an additional game board featuring parts of Essos, as well as the option to play with up to 8 players.

When you claim the throne, you can call the other houses to you with a new "vassal" mechanic, or even request help from the Iron Bank of Braavos. But be careful, for the bank must have what you owe it, and if it turns out you are a bad investment, the lenders' retribution will come swiftly.

This is an expansion that requires A Game of Thrones The Board Game to play.

Age: 14+
Number of Players: 3 to 8.

How to play A Game of Thrones: The Board Game:

Each round of the game consists of three phases: Westeros phase, planning phase and action phase.

Westeros phase represents special events and daily activities in Westeros. There are three different Westeros decks, and each indicates different global events that potentially affect all players.

Planning phase is perhaps the most important phase of the game. Here you secretly assign orders to all your units by placing an order token face down in each area you control that contains at least one unit (Knight, Footman, Ship, or Siege Engine). This part of the game emphasizes diplomacy and deduction. Can you trust the alliance you have made? Will you betray your ally and turn against him? You can make promises to each other (for example, for help or peace), but these promises are never binding. The result is tense and compelling negotiations that often end in backstabbing worthy of Westeros!

During action phase the orders are resolved, and the battle begins! When armies meet in combat, they secretly choose one of their cards to add strength to the fight. Finally, houses can consolidate their power in the areas they control and use that power in future turns to influence their position in the Iron Thrones
