Xenos is a general term used by humans to describe any life form that is neither human nor a demonic entity of the Warp.

There are 8 important Xenos armies, each with their own lore, codex, and miniatures:

Aeldari
Aeldari are an army of elf-like aliens who once ruled much of the universe. They make use of many highly specialized units, characterized by being particularly good at various specific tasks. Aeldari is an army with few but powerful units, which are heavily armed yet relatively fragile. You can read more about them here.

Drukhari
Drukhari or "dark ones" are an army of evil elf-like aliens, characterized by being very mobile and using high-tech weapons. You can read more about them here.

Genestealer Cults
Genestealer Cults are a secret society, consisting of Tyranid Genestealers, who worship Xenos. Their foremost task is to take control of the Imperial Worlds in the name of Xenos. You can read more about them here.

Necrons
Necrons are an army of ancient skeleton-like robots, awakened from a deep sleep to wage war against other races. In battle, they are characterized by their powerful ranged weapons, strong defense, and the ability to revive dead troops on the battlefield. You can read more about them here.

Orks
Orks, also called Greenskins, are the most populous race in Warhammer 40,000. Their culture revolves primarily around war, which orcs live and breathe for. You can read more about them here.

T'au Empire
T'au Empire is a rapidly growing Xenos star empire located within the Imperium of Man's Ultima Segmentum, close to the eastern edge of the Milky Way. It was founded by the Ethereals, who fought for their philosophy "the Greater Good". You can read more about them here.

Tyranids
Tyranids are Warhammer 40,000's answer to the classic aliens. Tyranids fly between the many planets in the universe in massive Hive Fleets, and conquer planets one by one, after which they collect all organic material and use it to make new tyranids with. They make use of extremely many miniatures in war, but also have large monsters they can bring if necessary. You can read more about them here.

Leagues of Votann
