Warhammer Underworlds Beastgrave is a miniature game of the arena type, where you fight intense battles against your opponent on a smaller board in under 45 minutes. The rules are simpler than in the larger miniature games and are specifically targeted at tournament play.

Fight intense, hard-hitting battles! Use your untamed brute strength and ferocity, or employ cunning tactics. In Warhammer Underworlds, two warbands fight against each other in short but brutal duels.
Warhammer Underworlds offers a unique gaming experience compared to Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, even though they share the same universe. Warhammer Underworlds plays more like a traditional board game, with a game board with clearly marked spaces, and a strong focus on deckbuilding.
In Warhammer Underworlds, each player controls a warband consisting of a number of miniatures from one of the many factions known from Age of Sigmar. These could be Stormcast Eternals, Orruks, Chaos, Seraphon, and many others. Each of the many warbands always contains the same named miniatures. If you play with "The Crimson Court" you will always have Prince Duvalle and his three allies on your team. They always have the same abilities, stats, and rules. But each Warband must also use a Power deck and an Objectives deck, and it is with these two decks that you can really customize how your warband should be played. Whether you want to go for pure damage, a focus on mobility, or maybe go all-in on holding objectives, there are many paths you can take to achieve final victory.
Warhammer Underworlds is played over 3 rounds, where each player can make 4 activations in each, thus 12 in total. It's not much, and therefore it's important that you make the most out of each activation. You need to have a plan and a purpose with everything you do.
The main focus in Warhammer Underworlds is close combat. Every time you reduce an opponent's miniature to zero life, you score a "Glory". You can also score Glory by fulfilling the requirements on your objective cards. When the third round is completed, the game is over, and the winner of the battle is the player who has gathered the most Glory. Interestingly, it is actually possible to win a battle, even if all the miniatures in your warband are dead - provided you have scored enough Glory.
The combat system in Warhammer Underworlds is based on a set of special dice. Each miniature may perform an attack based on its unique attack profile, which shows how many dice they may throw, which symbol they need to roll, and how much damage they inflict on their target if the attack is successful. Similarly, each miniature also has a defense profile, showing how many dice they may throw in defense and which symbol they need to roll. The attacker and defender roll their dice against each other, and if the attacker rolls more of their symbol, the attack goes through and the opponent takes damage. However, one can also roll a crit symbol, which adds more excitement and dynamics to the combat system.
The miniatures in the different Warhammer Underworlds warbands are unique, and are not just miniatures reused from Age of Sigmar. However, the miniatures are of the same high quality as we know and love from Games Workshop. They can of course also be painted, which is a great way to differentiate the miniatures if two players are using the same warband.
