Wrath and Glory

Prepare to face the horrors of the 41st millennium. This is a grim and dangerous future plagued by far-reaching schemes laid by the cruel forces trying to take over or annihilate the universe. Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory allows you to become part of the grim and dark universe known from Warhammer 40k miniature games. The Imperium of Man is under attack from all sides and from enemies hidden among its own ranks. In Wrath & Glory, it is your responsibility to defend humanity and carry out the Emperor's will.

Wrath & Glory takes place in the same universe as the popular miniature game Warhammer 40K. This is an incredibly dark and grim universe, where there are no kind-hearted heroes, only degrees of tyranny, evil, and sadism. Here, sci-fi elements mix with fantasy, and supersoldiers in power armor wage an endless war against demons and aliens from the farthest corners of the universe. Wrath & Glory focuses on the Gilead System: A collection of planets cut off from the rest of the galaxy by "The Great Rift." Isolated from the rest of the Imperium and from their holy Emperor, the remaining humans in the Gilead system must fight for their lives as the doomsday clock slowly ticks down to the system's inevitable fall to Chaos.

Unlike in Warhammer 40K miniature games, players do not control an entire army but instead a single character which they can build from scratch. There are plenty of archetypes to choose from, and although the game mainly focuses on the Imperium of Man, players can also choose to play as Aeldari and Orks. The many archetypes are divided into four levels, which help determine the difficulty of the game. The higher the level, the stronger the enemies. The archetypes also determine which sub-faction from the empire one belongs to, e.g., Sisters of Battle, Adeptus Mechanicus, or Astra Militarum.

The game takes place as a kind of verbally improvised drama, where players in collaboration with the Game Master create a story with the players' characters in the main roles. It is the Game Master's role to control the rest of the characters and monsters the players meet, as well as to create and elaborate the cities and locations the players visit. It is important to keep in mind that the player and Game Master are not against each other even though the Game Master controls the game's enemies and monsters. Tabletop role-playing games like Wrath & Glory are primarily about creating an exciting narrative together. If you want to add a little extra to your sessions, you can advantageously use Warhammer 40K miniatures.

If you want to start playing Wrath & Glory, all you need is a copy of the game's Core Rulebook and a lot of 6-sided dice. In the rulebook, you will find all the information you need to create exciting characters, prepare a campaign, and all the game's rules

Imperium of Man

This intergalactic empire spans millions of planets, all serving the living god known simply as "The Emperor of Mankind". The Emperor has ruled the empire for more than 10,000 years from his golden throne on Terra. This throne keeps him alive, and thousands of souls are sacrificed daily to maintain the Emperor's strength. As the empire is spread over vast distances, each planet can largely govern itself, as long as they adhere to the religious doctrine and pay tithes in the form of resources and troops to the imperial army, Astra Militarum.

Despite its enormous size and strength, the empire is on the verge of collapse. Pressured from all sides by various xenos races, who either want to build their own empires or simply wish for the total destruction of everything else.
