Partners

Since its release in 1998, Partners has become one of the most popular board games in Denmark. The game combines strategic thinking, cooperation, and competition in an exciting and engaging board game! As the name of the game suggests, you play in pairs against each other, and it is therefore not enough to only think about your own moves and pieces if you want to win. Here on this page, you will find our selection of various Partners games.

HeaderMore about PartnersBlockText2

Partners is a super fun game where four players divided into two teams compete to be the fastest to move both teammates' pieces all the way around the game board and into the goal. The game can thus be somewhat reminiscent of Ludo, but it is more nuanced and therefore necessary to think strategically and cooperate with your partner if you want to win.

Since the original game for four people was released, two additional versions of the game have been produced. Partners+ allows you to play with up to 6 people in three teams of two or two teams of three people. If you can't find enough players, you can instead try Partners Duo, which takes the well-known rules and adapts them for two people.

How to play Partners

At the beginning of a game of Partners, each player must have 4 cards in hand. Each team then exchanges one card from their hand with their partner. The goal of the game is to move both your own and your partner's pieces all the way around the game board and into the goal field.

To be able to move your pieces out of the starting field, you need a heart card and then use the number cards to move a corresponding number of fields. However, there are many other types of cards that can manipulate the pieces' placement on the board and therefore you can never plan too far ahead. The game proceeds clockwise and on each turn, a player must play a card from their hand, perform the action on the card, and pass the turn.
