You win the game if you have the most money when the game ends - get ready to make a fortune!
Monopoly is a favorite game for many, and it is definitely worth the money as you can play it over and over and over again.. And then one more time!
The rules of Monopoly are very simple, making it a perfect family game.
All players choose a piece and place it at the starting field. You can roll a die to determine who starts - that person then rolls two dice and moves their piece the given number of spaces.
If a player lands on a property that is not yet owned by anyone, they can choose to buy the property. The properties have different prices, and therefore, the income from them varies. Once a player owns all properties in the same color group, they can start building houses and hotels, which can help increase their income.
There are spaces on the board that do not consist of an available property; on these spaces, the player must draw a "Chance" card from the deck in the middle of the board. The cards may require the player to: pay taxes, collect money – or maybe even: Go to jail! Then it's the next player's turn.
When a player can no longer pay the money they owe to the bank or in rent, they must declare bankruptcy. The person who ends up with money at the end of the game – and thus has not gone bankrupt – is the winner of the game.
During the game, you can trade and negotiate with your fellow players about different properties.
If you roll doubles, i.e., two identical dice, you may move your piece, follow the rules on the board, and then roll again. But if you roll doubles three times in a row, you go to jail.
