Welcome, students!

In just a few weeks, class will be in session at the prestigious Strixhaven: School of Mages, and we are so excited that you have chosen to begin your mystical studies with us! You represent the flower of the Multiverse's youth, and we represent all the knowledge one could possibly hope to learn as a budding magician practicing your magical craft.

As a new student, you enroll in one of our five colleges based on your abilities and desired areas of study. It is important to choose a college that best suits you, and today we are here to help you on that journey!

Let's take a tour of our prestigious colleges and learn a little about each. Don't worry, orientation will cover more of this in detail later in March when you arrive on campus. For now, look around and see what strikes your intellectual curiosity! If we have time, we might even take a look at our vast collection of magical spells in our library!

Strixhaven is Wizards of the Coast's take on a universe centered around a school for wizards - ala Harry Potter. Not much is known yet about the set's mechanics beyond that dual faced cards from Zendikar and Kaldheim will return.

The following products are available:

Strixhaven Draft Display - A display with boosters primarily intended for playing Limited Magic (Draft and Sealed).
Strixhaven Set Display - A display with boosters that are designed to be fun to open (With extra chance for rare cards!).
Strixhaven Collector Display (A display with boosters for the discerning Magic players. With higher frequency of foil and rares).
Strixhaven Commander Deck - Five different preconstructed Commander decks. One for each college.
Strixhaven Bundle - A box with 10 boosters, foil basic lands and other goodies.
Strixhaven Pre-release Pack - Box with 6 draft boosters intended to play in pre-release events.

The Colleges

Each of our colleges was founded by an elder dragon, whose name each school bears. Our founders were paragons of magic and knowledge, and each school strives to match the founder's vision and magical abilities! We won't meet the founders today, but with luck, they may show up at orientation!

Examine carefully each college's strengths and weaknesses - and start considering which one you choose!

Lorehold

Loreholds are diligent researchers and bold adventurers. Passionate scholars obsessed with history, they explore the past by finding archaeological artifacts and summoning long-dead spirits. For some students, the past is a rich tapestry worth studying. While others wear the tapestries as a cloak as they jump into a forgotten tomb. Their motto is "Leave no stone unturned."

Here is an example of powerful Lorehold magic!

Prismari

Prismari are the performers at Strixhaven, and magic is how they express themselves. Their magic can be illusions of raw creativity or meticulous artistic expressions. The whole world is a stage, and whether their art is informed by mind or emotions, Prismari always leave a lasting impression. Their motto is "Express yourself with the elements."

Here is an example of powerful Prismari magic!

Quandrix

Quandrix spellcasters are brilliant math-magicians. They study patterns, fractals, and symmetries to command the power of the fundamental forces of nature. They solve a Rubik's cube while pondering the metaphysical properties of the universe and can recite every count of Pi's decimals backwards. Their motto is "Math is magic."

Here is an example of powerful Quandrix magic!

Silverquill

Silverquill wield the magic of words, from inspiring poetry to biting mystical insults. These magicians are stylish, intimidating, and relentlessly competitive as born leaders with a razor-sharp wit and natural charisma that can be used for good or evil. Their motto is "Sharp style. Sharper humor."

Here is an example of powerful Silverquill magic!

Witherbloom

Witherblooms are goth biology students. They draw power from the essence of living beings, whether that means nurturing nature or exploiting it. Witherbloom magicians are most at home when riding on zombie crocodiles, picking herbs for potions, and hanging out in their swamp making gloomy jokes. Their motto is "Get your hands dirty."

Here is an example of powerful Witherbloom magic!

Mystical Archive

No matter which area of study you choose, you have access to our vast library of resources for magic and knowledge, spanning all magic! Some spells are deemed too dangerous and powerful even for careful mages, but at Strixhaven we value knowledge above all else and thus have a library of historical spells that can compete with any!

This collection, located in what we call our mystical archive, contains a wealth of spells from simple mind magic to powerful and deadly spells, which most shudder to see. We house them in our Biblioplex and lucky us! Professor Onyx happens to be flipping through several books right here with students Rowan and Will. Normally only students get a peek, but we make an exception for today!

Naturally, the wonders of our Biblioplex draw the most attention and with good reason! We have a large library of magic from throughout history, and we provide access to 63 of these on your first trip to Strixhaven. These spells come from throughout Magic's history, so their inclusion in the mystical archive does not affect their legality in various formats. That means no Demonic Tutor in your standard, but if you open one in draft, then Tutor away!

The mystical archive is open to all, and you receive a copy - from its own dedicated spot - in every draft booster and every set booster and at least three in every Collector Booster!

The Japanese variants for Mystical Archive are found in Japanese Draft, Set, and Collector Boosters, and at least one comes in Collector Boosters in all languages! Both the regular and the Japanese version of Mystical Archive cards come in foil and, only found in Collector Boosters, the new foil-etched version.
