Kill Team

Kill Team

Kill Team is a skirmish game in the Warhammer 40k universe, where two to four players can play quick tactical battles. They are a kind of miniature version of the traditional Warhammer 40k battles, using significantly less time and a fraction of the usual number of miniatures, typically only about 4-12 models.

First video in the series, teaching you how to play Kill Team.

Across the galaxy, there are teams of combat specialists among all races and creeds. While interplanetary wars rage, and thousands of warriors clash in battle, specialized Kill Teams undertake dangerous missions that can block the enemy's supply lines, cut off their communication, or destroy key war facilities. A successful mission can turn the tide of battle!

With the new edition of Warhammer 40k Kill Team, comes Kill Team: Octarius, filled with miniatures, a new rulebook, dice, and all the kill team tokens, cards, and combat gauges you could need! It tells the story of a hardened group of Veteran Guardsmen from the Death Korps of Krieg meeting Ork Kommandos in an all-out skirmish battle, and it also serves well as a kill team starter set, for those who are completely new to the genre.

Kill team includes all the beloved factions from Warhammer 40k, including Astra Militarum, Adeptus Astartes, Tau Empire, Tyranids, Necrons, and many more! Within the Space Marines, there is also the beloved Deathwatch kill team, or you can create your own Genestealer cult kill team! You can of course also keep up with the Games-Workshop Community/Warhammer Community where you can always get confirmed or denied the latest Games Workshop rumours.

New rules in Kill Team

This edition of Kill Team has been redesigned from the ground up to deliver the best possible gaming experience. Where the previous edition leaned heavily on the rules from Warhammer 40,000, this time the game stands on its own with a rule set that more closely reflects the intense confrontations between small teams of elite soldiers. Here is an overview of some of the most important improvements.

Fireteams: You do not use points to build your Kill Team. Instead, you assemble Fireteams. Each Kill Team typically consists of 1-2 Fireteams, where you can choose between different fixed combinations of units. Talons of the Emperor consists of two Fireteams, which can consist of either 2 Adeptus Custodes or 5 Sisters of Silence.

New profiles: The profiles that reflect the models' abilities are completely new. Only Save has been directly carried over from the previous Kill Team, and even this attribute only applies against shooting.

Kill Team Profile

Action Point Limit: How much your models can do each time he is activated. A model can make a move, charge, shoot, fight, fall back or a unique action.

Kill Team Actions

Group Activation: Some Kill Teams have access to horde units, such as Grots, hormagaunts, and chaos-cultists. These often move in groups of 2. This means that when you activate one of these models, you must immediately activate another model that also activates in groups of 2.

Close combat: Close combat has possibly become even more intense! Now both players roll their attack dice at the same time. What follows is a duel back and forth. Will you use a successful die to block the opponent's blow, or will you yourself cause as much damage as possible?

Overwatch: Each model can only be activated once per round. But if your Kill Team is outnumbered compared to the opponent, you can now use the alternating activations to instead fire Overwatch shots, if you have no more models that can be activated.

Games Workshop has with the game Warhammer 40k Kill Team brought the old version of Kill Team together with Shadow War: Armageddon, to create a whole new gaming experience. The new Kill Team takes things you love, squad customization, narrative progression and development, a small number of models and merges it with the groundbreaking rule set that the team behind Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire has made.

Your Kill Team is a team of elite warriors, which you have chosen, consisting of about 5-10 units. Once you have assembled your team, you can further customize them using a system of specializations and advancements. Your Kill Teams can later be used in one-off missions or in campaigns where their strength grows and their skills are further unfolded.
