Jan Van Haasteren's jigsaw puzzles are always full of life, crazy situations, movement, and especially humor. He always ensures that certain details are consistently present in the motifs, such as the shark fin or the three holes. This adds a "Where's Waldo" element to the puzzles, as the motifs are always packed with miniatures and quirky events, allowing you to spend a lot of time exploring the details.
Jan Van Haasteren took a building painter's education at a vocational school, and subsequently continued at the art academy in Rotterdam. At that time, he did not know he would be a comic strip illustrator, and started with a job as an illustrator in a large media company, where he primarily made posters. His life would change, however, when he got the game producer Jumbo as a client. Initially, they were not particularly impressed with the poster he delivered, but he was allowed to redo it, and make it as he wanted. The new poster impressed Jumbo so much that the company has since used Jan Van Haasteren to draw motifs for their largest jigsaw puzzle series, which is also named after the artist himself.
