Hobby and Paint

On this page, you’ll find all the accessories you need when playing miniature games such as Warhammer, Star Wars: Legion, Dungeons & Dragons, and similar. Here you’ll primarily find hobby tools for preparing and painting miniatures.

Whether you’re playing one of the large wargames with a full army of miniatures, a smaller skirmish game that only uses a handful of figures, or a role-playing game with a wide selection of heroes, monsters, and NPCs, you’ll likely want to elevate your gaming experience with beautifully painted figures. On this page, you’ll find all the tools you need — from clippers, drills, and files, to brushes, paints, and base decorations.

What to get when you want to start painting miniatures:

Tools
Before you can start painting your figures, some preparation is usually required to get them ready. Many miniatures come unassembled on a plastic sprue, where the individual pieces need to be clipped off with precision cutters. When assembling plastic models, we recommend using plastic glue specifically designed for this purpose. Other useful tools include scalpels or fine files to remove mold lines or other small imperfections. And of course, it’s essential to have good-quality brushes in sizes suited for painting small details.

Paints
One of the most important aspects of painting miniatures is using good-quality paints made specifically for models. Citadel, Vallejo, and Army Painter all produce top-tier paints, ensuring you’ll have a great experience while painting your figures. Beyond their standard paints, each brand offers a unique range of specialized products: Citadel makes things easy by dividing their range into base and layer paints, and their Contrast paints create highlights and shadows in just one coat. Vallejo offers the amazing Shifters, which change color depending on the angle, while Army Painter has a unique line of colored metallic paints. The great thing is that all three brands can easily be used together — so your models can benefit from the best of all worlds.

Basing Materials
Don’t forget the base when painting models! A well-decorated base can take a painted figure from great to outstanding. At Card Collective, we offer a wide range of materials for creating beautiful bases. One of the simplest methods is using different types of sand and tufts, which you glue directly to the base. You can also use the “rolling pins” from Green Stuff World to press textures into a piece of Green Stuff.

Game Accessories
Here you’ll find all sorts of other accessories you can use with your miniature games, such as extra rulebooks and expansions that add new content to your games. You’ll also find different game mats and boards that let you transform an ordinary dining table into a scorching desert, a war-torn city, or even outer space!
