Board Games

We have a huge selection of great board games, divided into different categories. Below you can learn more about what the different categories of board games contain, learn a bit about board games in general, and see what Spilforsyningen can offer you in terms of board games.

What to know about board games

A board game is, at its core, a game played at a table. It typically includes some kind of pieces that are moved around on a surface or a board in a way described in the accompanying rules. Some board games are strategy games where the goal is to find the best tactics, sometimes with an element of luck, while some board games are even entirely based on luck. It is entirely subjecitve which types of board games one prefers, but at Spilforsyningen we have something for everyone. The earliest board games were typically variations of the same theme: a battle between two armies, where the goal was to defeat the other. We still see this reflected in many modern board games, but today board games are a much broader category, with new ideas constantly being developed and concepts sometimes turned upside down.

We have chosen to divide our selection of board games into subcategories so you can more easily find fun games that fit your needs.

Children’s games: A category of board games specifically aimed at children.

Conversation games: This type of game combines play and conversation. The purpose of the game is often to spark deeper conversations.

Smartgames: This category gathers a variety of games designed to challenge the player. Here you’ll find brainteasers for all ages.

Card drafting: Games centered around cards. This category turns the concept of board games upside down, as they often don’t use pieces or a board at all.

Strategy games: Board games that often provide plenty of brain gymnastics. If you love optimization and tactical planning, this is the category for you.

Classic board games: The traditional games that never go out of style. These include classics such as chess, dominoes, and backgammon.

Two player games: Board games designed for two players. Here you’ll find both short games, perfect for playing once the kids are in bed, as well as more complex strategy games that are challenging and require more time.

Party games: Games in this category are great to play when you’re together with more people. They are typically more social games that are good at including everyone in the group.

Adventure and role-playing games: In this type of game, players often take on the role of characters in other universes, embarking on epic adventures and battling monsters, aliens, or other foes.

Cooperative games: In this category, it’s not about beating each other but about working together to overcome the challenges presented.

Quiz games: Do you have lots of trivia knowledge you’d like to show off? Then this is the right type of game for you. Here, the goal is to answer as many questions as possible.

Escape Room games: A special type of game where players often work together to solve puzzles.

Board game accessories: Card sleeves for your board game cards, dice, counters, dice towers, and more.
