The ceramic tiles Azulejos (originally blue and white) were introduced by the Moors. The Portuguese enthusiastically adopted them after their king, Manuel I, was captivated by the beautiful Moorish tiles during a visit to the Alhambra Palace in southern Spain. The king was very impressed by the palace's beautiful interior and immediately ordered that his own palace in Portugal be decorated with similar wall tiles.

The Azul board game is easy to play but hard to master, making it fun for beginners but also challenging for more seasoned board game enthusiasts. Azul was designed by the world-renowned game designer, Michael Kiesling, and won the prestigious board game award 'Spiels Des Jahres 2018'. The game also won the Board Game Geeks’ award in the 'Family Game' category.
